College Shawinigan is a public college and a vocational school. It was formerly known as Cegep Shawinigan. Since 1974 the Cegep grouped on a single campus. The college integrates the teaching functions of the institute with technology. It is the only college for higher education institutions in Center-de-la-Mauricie and Haut-Saint-Maurice. The total number of students is 1300. Shawinigan college is a part of the network of cégeps du Quebec.
