About the Organizer :

Amaethon is the largest Food & Agribusiness Summit in the entire Asia-Pacific region, organized at IIM Ahmedabad. Synonymous with excellence and a continuous quest for innovation, the summit provides an interactive platform which brings together industry captains, prominent academicians and future leaders of the agribusiness world. These thought leaders come together to underscore the opportunities and challenges in agribusiness, enlighten aspiring leaders about the requisite skill sets and help better the way in which the agribusiness world functions.

 Problem Statement:

Introduction:

Agriculture in India is plagued by some serious issues, resulting in abject poverty in a country that is fast emerging as a leader in many other arenas. Poverty in India can be solved if her Agriculture is solved. What is required is a fresh perspective and a new start!

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, a premier global business school in India sees an opportunity in bringing together the young, dynamic and entrepreneurial minds of the world to solve the core issues of Agriculture in India. Participants from across the world will work towards solving a select bunch of fundamental problems faced by Indian Agriculture and the best ones will be given the opportunity to fly down* to India during Amaethon 2016 (January 15-17, 2016) to present their ideas before leaders comprising corporate, academia and policy makers.

Note: The event is opened to both the Indian participants and the participants across the globe. Evaluation will be done separately for both categories.

Participation is not just restricted to students. Faculty, experts and researchers are also eligible to participate in the event

Structure:

TransforNation is a two-stage competition. In the first stage, the participants are required to submit their analysis and recommendations on the select issues given by us in a 250-word abstract along with a 6 slide presentation (excluding intro and thank you slides).

The second-round or the finale would be held at IIM A campus during Amaethon. The selected teams would be required to present their analysis and recommendations to the esteemed panel of judges.

 Rules and Guidelines:

Stage 1 – Preliminary Round

1. The topics for analysis would be mailed to all registered teams by 15^th December, 2015.
2. All the teams should mail their case analysis to transfornation2016@iimahd.ernet.in by 21^th December, 2015, 11:59:59 pm.
3. Top 12 (6 global and 6 Indian) teams will be shortlisted for the next round and the results will be announced on our Facebook page on 30^th December, 2015.
4. All the short-listed teams will also be intimated via mail.

Stage 2 – On-Campus Round

1. Final presentation round will be on 17^th January, 2016(tentative) in IIM A.
2. The top 6 shortlisted teams in each category will be participating in this round.
3. Each selected team will have to present their analyses & recommendations to a panel of judges during Amaethon 2016 in IIM A.
4. Each team will be allotted 15 minutes to present & 5 minutes for Q&A session.
5. Decision taken by the panel of judges and Amaethon team will be considered as final and binding.
6. Further details will be communicated to each of the shortlisted teams later
