Bharathidasan University's main campus was located initially in Palkalaiperur, a large region of around 1000 acres. However, as time progressed, the South Campus in Palkalaiperur was donated to the newly established Anna University of Technology and the associated infrastructure. Hostel: Fans, decent lighting, adequate water, a recreation centre, a playing field, and newspapers and periodicals are all available in the hostel rooms. Each Bharathidasan University hostel has a television and access to cable television. Similarly, it offers Wi-Fi, allowing students to use their laptops to access the internet from their rooms. The hostels provide an excellent clean kitchen facility and dining halls. The women's hostels have a 24-hour watch and ward. The bathrooms in each hostel are equipped with hot water. Once a month, the hostels' grievance redressal committee and purchase committee convene. The hostels are equipped with a phone system that allows them to receive calls from outside.
Health Centre: Bharathidasan University. is equipped with bathrooms, toilets, washbasins, fans, lights, drinking water, and other physical amenities. First-aid medicine, an IRR lamp, an electrocardiogram, and other medical equipment are available at the health centre. The centre is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. Roughly 40 patients are seen, including some underprivileged peasants from the surrounding area.
Library: The Bharathidasan University library consists of a stack, reference, circulation, periodicals, technical section, digital library, audio-visual centre and reprography sections to provide adequately for all the academic needs of its staff and students. It also provides access to online resources like DOAJ, IAS, NISCAIR, DLS, etc.
Sports Facilities: Bharathidasan University infrastructure offers a fantastic sports and games infrastructure. A decent gymnasium with multi-gym facilities, a yoga centre, an indoor stadium for table tennis, chess, carom, weight lifting, and powerlifting. Basketball, ball badminton, cricket, football, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi, handball, and netball are among the outdoor sports taught at the university. It also features a normal 400-meter sports track where all field events are held.
Transportation Facilities: Students, teachers, and non-teaching personnel have access to necessary transportation. University buses run regularly between the city and the Palkalaiperur Campus in the morning and evening.
Computer Centre: The Bharathidasan university facilities include an informatics centre that houses a central computing laboratory that serves the academic, research, and general computing needs of our university's students, faculty, and employees. Students from constituent institutions and connected colleges use the laboratory as well. Participants in Refresher courses, Orientation courses, short term courses, workshops, and other events can use the laboratory for hands-on instruction and webinars. There are 110 computers in the computing lab, all connected to a central server. The lab is open from 8 am until 8 pm on all days, excluding national holidays. The laboratory is equipped with necessary software tools, IP surveillance cameras, an audio system, and a Smartboard to teach and show.
Security: Under the RUSA grant, round-the-clock CCTV surveillance cameras have been placed in the university to improve campus safety and security. There are 140 cameras in 25 different buildings on the Palkaliperur and Khajamalai campuses covering a huge geographical area. Security personnel are stationed throughout the buildings, offices, and hostels to protect personal safety.
