Library

The College prides itself on having a well stocked and spacious library with its books arranged as text books, reference materials, journals, periodicals, magazines both of general and special interest The library benefits both the students and the teachers. It has a spacious reading room and well-organized lending system. To ensure proper utilization of the library the following rules are laid down.

Library cards are issued to every student, against her Fee Book at the beginning of the Session. A student of First year can get two books at a time, that of second year can get three books and third year can get four books at a time. The card is valid for one academic year.A student can keep a book for 15 days. In case of delay in returning book, a student will have to pay a fine of Re.1 per day per book.The Loss of the Card has to be immediately reported to the Librarian. The Fine for loss of card is Rs. 50/- .Students must return their library card and obtain a clearance certificate from the Library before appearing for university exam or before seeking T.CFor Physical verification students and teachers are asked to return all the books before the summer recess.

We have purchased library software and a computerized database is being developed.

Question Bank

Question Banks of various subjects prepared by the teachers of the college and stored in the library for the assistance of the students.

Students' seminars.

To infuse in the students a students a spirit of deeper enquiry on the subjects included in their curricula, we have started organazing departmental seminars on a relatively large scale where chairpersons from other institutions are invited.

Theirs valuable comments on the papers encourage the students, boost their self-confidence and most importantly enable them to locate their lacunae . We are also thinking of introduction a Research a Project Cell to enable the students to undertake small research projects under the guidance of individual teacher

Extension Lectures

TThe College organizes extension lectures on various subjects. It is the duty of an academic institution to develop its students as conscious social beings.

Grievance Redressal Cell

The College has constituted a Grievance Reddresal Cell to look into the specific grievances of the students. There is also a box in which the students can drop in their complaints and suggestions.

Games And Sports

The College has no playground to promote outdoor games. Nevertheless, the college provides facilities for indoor games and encourages students to participate in Annual sports. The College ensures participation of students in Inter collegiate Tournaments/ Championships, in Inter-University and other tournaments and championship and long term coaching camps.

Extension activities :

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES The College encourages cultural activities among students under the auspices of the Students' union Cultural programmes to mark important National Events and memorable dates in the college calendar from a part of the corporate college life. Competitions in Music, Recitation, debate, dance etc. are organized every year and prizes are given to successful competitor. Educational excursions are also organized.

Every year the students' Union of the College organizes fresher's Welcome and Annual Cultural Function. Such programmes not only lead to the free intermingling of the existing and the fresh batches, but also provide the students a platform for displaying their talents. Every year a picnic is organized by the staff and students of the college various cultural programmes have been organized throughout the year to celebrate 150th Birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore. Every Year the college celebrates Rabindra Jayanti, Nazrul Jayanti and Vernacular day.

Several Programmes have been taken to celebrate the 150th birth centenary of Swami Vivekananda. Besides lecture programmes on value Education as Preached by Swami Vivekananda, a youth forum has been created to spread his ideals.

Publications

In order to encourage original through and expression among student and to keep them in touch with the various activities and events of the world, the College publishes printed magazine of its own every year. There is also provision for wall Magazines prepared by the students of every department. The College Journal has been published from 2006-2007 academic year.

N.S.S. Activities

The college has an active unit of National Service scheme which organizes Regular programme throughout the year to create awareness among student volunteers regarding social problems and need to do social return and development work. After completion of two years voluntary work students are awarded University Certificates. A camp is also held every year for community development with two adopted slums. N.S.S. volunteers celebrate all important state, national and international days.
