Academics & Faculty : The classes are held regularly from 10 am to 4 pm. Students can stay back in class if they want to do self-study. The atmosphere is quiet, and one can easily concentrate. There are excellent teachers and experts in Linguistics who have a penchant for teaching. The quality of teaching has improved drastically over the years.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibity criteria to join a Masters program in CUK is a Bachelor's degree in the concerned subject or an allied subject. There is, however, a limited option to stay outside the campus because the campus is on the outskirts of the city, and there are no good PGs. The food in the hostel mess is quite basic. Nothing fancy. But one can easily eat outside because new shops are coming up just outside the campus. There are smart classrooms, well equipped with smart boards and ACs. The classrooms are exceptionally clean and perfect for a teaching atmosphere. There are dining halls in every hostel, so one doesn't have to move about here and there with the food. The campus is equipped with Wi-Fi, and the Library is one of the best places in the University.
Clubs & Associations : CUK lacks a strong student society. However, some groups engage in extra curricular activities, especially in English and Psychology departments. The Sports Society is one of the best because a sports event is organized every year and everybody gets to be a part of it. All the festivals are celebrated with a lot of enthusiasm on the campus. There are students from all over the country and abroad, and every festival is given due importance. I have been a part of Pongal and Onam, and the experience was amazing.
