The College of Agriculture, Palampur was initially established as a junior college of agriculture in 1966 later when it came into territorial jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh it comes with the inception of Himachal Pradesh University in 1970. The College became part of the Agriculture Complex of Himachal Pradesh University. Later the University is named Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya, Palampur.
