The Goa College of Art recognized as the premiere and only Art Institution in the State, established in the year 1972 by the Kala Academy. The Goa College of Art, founded in 1972 by the Kala Academy, is recognized as the first and only art institution. Presently, it is under the Directorate of Technical Education, Goa. The college aims at advancing knowledge and professional competence in the fields of Painting and Applied Arts. Its educational program aims to incorporate the conceptual and technical excellence that is so vital to self-expression and competence in the field into talented Goan youth and to better prepare students in the area of art for fulfilling careers as artists and designers or educators.
The Goa College of Art has an experienced and dedicated faculty backed by a support staff team, enabling the students to be productive and socially responsible, creative citizens. GCA Admission is merit-based.

Bachelor of Performing Arts or BFA is an undergraduate course consisting of subjects related to fine arts. The duration of the course is three years. The course has a length of 3 years. Fine arts involve a range of materials and techniques that could serve any social cause through art. Instead of functional importance, fine arts are studied primarily for their artistic value and elegance. The eligibility for a Bachelors’s of fine art is a minimum of 50% in 10+2 from any recognized board in India. Some of the employment areas for a BFA course graduate are 3D Artist, Graphic Designer, Sketching Artist, Art Director, etc.
