• Applications for the Research Degree Entrance Test (RDET) 2025 exam will open on June 22, 2025, for Kumaon University PhD admission 2025. The last date to submit the online application is August 25, 2025 (11:59 pm). Further, the RDET 2025 exam will be conducted on September 10, 2025.

Kumaun University admission 2025 process is conducted based on the applicant's performance in the qualifying entrance test and merit. Kumaun University course admissions offer BA in 12 specializations, similarly, 10 specializations are provided in BBA, BFA, B.Ed, B.Sc, LLB, BCA, B.Com, and M.Sc. programs.

The University's Research Degree Entrance Test (RDET) score decides Admission to Ph.D. programs. • For BA, The candidate must have passed the 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board.
• For B.Sc, The applicants must have completed their 12th class in a science stream, with Biology or Mathematics as one of the optional subjects.
• For BBA, The applicants must have passed their 10+2 board exams in any discipline with 50% marks as an aggregate to be eligible to apply.
• For BHM, The applicants must have passed their 10+2 board exams in any discipline with 50% marks as an aggregate to be eligible to apply.
• For BFA, The applicant must have passed the 10+2 in any stream from a recognized board to be eligible for BFA admission to Kumaun University.
• For B.Ed, Here the aspirant must have completed his/ her bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in total.
• For BPES, an aspirant must have completed his/ her 10+2 with at least 50% marks from any recognized board.
• For BCA, The candidate must have passed the 10+2 any stream from a recognized board with maths as an optional subject.
• For B.Com, The applicant must have completed their class 12th exams in any stream from a recognized board.
• For LLB, The candidate who has passed the 10+2 stream from a recognized board with at least 45% of marks and 40% for the reserved category.

• For M.Lib.I.Sc, Kumaun University eligibility criteria for the M.Lib.I.Sc course is that the candidates must have completed his/ her bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks in total from any recognized University. 
• For MA, The candidate who has passed the bachelor's in any stream from a recognized university can apply. 
• For M.Ed, A candidate must have completed a B.Ed or any related discipline from a recognized institute or university with at least 45% of marks in total and 40% for the reserved category.
• For M.Sc, A candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree in science stream with relevant specialization from a recognized institute.
• For MCA, The candidate must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institute.
• For M.Pharm, The candidate must have completed a B.Pharm degree from a recognized university.
• For MBA, The candidate must have passed the bachelor's in any stream from a recognized university.
• For M.Com, The candidate must have completed a B.Com degree from a recognized university or institute because it’s a specialized program.
• For MFA, The aspirants must have completed graduation from a recognized board with at least 50% of marks in total and 45% for the reserved category.
