Library

The library of Loyola College of Education is a hub of academic and research activities. The library has potential collection of valuable rare books, reference books, important journals and educational CDs and DVDs for the use of students, staff, non teaching staff and the alumni of the College. The total number of books in the library at present is 7000+, and the number of periodicals subscribed to is 19. The library provides current awareness services to the readers through newspapers. clippings, newsletters etc. It is opened from 8.30 A.M. – 4.10 P.M. except on Sundays and College holidays. Students can borrow a maximum of 2 books at a time for a period of 5 days. It is digitalized now.

On Campus Facilities

Within its campus, Loyola College of Education, Namchi provides two hostels, one for men and the other for women. Each of these hostels has an intake capacity of fifty, (shared rooms), making up the total of a hundred in the hostels. Apart from these two hostels, there is also a Jesuit staff residence. As the institution aims at the all round development of her students, apart from providing excellent academic facilities, she also provides games, both indoor and outdoor facilities; there is an excellent basketball court of international standard, two volleyball courts, and three outdoor badminton courts. Keeping in mind the weather situation, she also provides other indoor games facilities.

I.C.T. Room

ICT room is opened from 9.00 A.M. – 4.10 P.M. It is equipped with broadband internet connection and printer. Students are encouraged to make the best use of the facilities made available.

Co –Curricular Activities

 The College provides every opportunity to her students for their training in planning and organizing co-curricular activities. A rich and wide variety of activities like Quiz, Singing, Debate, Art, Gardening, Games and Sports competitions etc. are organized during the academic year. To foster Co-operative learning, Guided Small Group Discussions are incorporated among the other scholastic activities. Further, so that the students do not lose sight of their rich Religious and Cultural heritages amidst the wave of modernity, all major religious and cultural feasts are celebrated with great enthusiasm.
