NIEPMD has closed admissions for all offered courses for the academic year 2022-23. Admission to Certificate courses, PG Diplomas, D.Ed B.Ed and M.Ed are done based on merit.Candidates for BPT and BOT have to give the Common Entrance Test (CET) conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education Tamil Nadu. For B.ASLP candidates have to appear for the NEET entrance exam.

National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan) was established in the year 2005, Under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, to serve as a national resource centre for empowerment of persons with Multiple Disabilities such as those with two or more disabilities in a person.
