Placements & Internships :
Our semester end internships are mandatory after the second year itself. The companies that hire us are usually design firms, product manufacturing units, industries, UI and UX companies. Average salary figures from 6 lakhs to 15 lakhs per year. Alumni network is decently good.
Entrance Exams & Admissions :
Eligibility criteria for the university entrance exam was score of 12th standard and the score in entrances like NID, NIFT or UCEED if someone had given any. I took NIFT and NID before getting into my college. Typical cutoff is a good score in college entrance and interview taken by them.
Fees & Scholarships :
It is approximately one lakh seventy thousand per semester. There were no scholarships offered to our batch. Average number of students who got scholarship is not revealed. The college fee is usually affordable for most of the people who take admissions. However they get a loan from bank easily if they need any for studying in Nirma University.
Academics & Faculty :
The daily routine in the institute of design is very hectic to be honest. Class timings are from 9 o’clock in the morning to 4:15 in the evening with a lunch break of an hour in between. There is semester end jury and regular evaluation on completion of every course. There are majorly a couple of learning assignments and a main assignment in every course. The methods of teaching are at times excellent and some times kind of decent. However quality of teaching can be improved. Overall experience of the college is positive.
College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities :
Majorly all institutes have their hostel however ours being the new one still has the hostel under construction. Fee in hostel for triple sharing rooms is approximately one lakh sixty thousand per semester. The PGs around the campus are good but they cost very high, nearly fifteen thousand per month. The food in college is good and it costs somewhere between seventy to one hundred sixty per meal for a person or sometimes sharing with friends costs lesser. Quality of classrooms, labs, libraries, dining halls is good. There’s an internet issue in campus due to jammers but they have the facility of Wi-Fi.
Clubs & Associations :
We have various sports, yoga, book reading clubs, popcorn society named movie clubs, filmmaking clubs, dancing etc. clubs and societies. We do have tech related festivals and seminars from time to time. Cultural festivals include garba during Navratri, traditional days etc. In general college life at Nirma is pretty good and it’s a productive time altogether at the campus everyday.
