Shahaji Law College is one of the oldest Law colleges in the state of Maharashtra, India. It is situated in the city of Kolhapur and run by Council of Education, Kolhapur. It is registered under Public Trust. The city of Kolhapur is known for its rich cultural heritage. It has a vibrant progressive history. Kolhapur is a land blessed by a farsighted and dedicated Monarchy in the form of His Highness Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj, His Highness Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj III and His Highness Chhatrapati Shahaji Maharaj II. The College was established in 1933 when there was no facility for law education was there. Initially, the college conducted only Three Year Law Course, however, it, later on, obtain permission to conduct a Five Year law course. The college also offers two Diploma course i.e., Diploma in Labour Law and Diploma in Income Tax. The college also had permission to run the LL.M. course till 2001. In 2005, Shahaji Law College faced the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) inspection for the first time and gained a B++. The college is currently in the process of going through its next cycle of NAAC.

Shahaji Law College is one of the reputed and oldest law colleges in India in the state of Maharashtra. It inculcates the highest values and imparting legal education since 1933. His Highness, the late Shri Rajaram Chatrapati Maharaja of Kolhapur who was always very keen about legal education constituted a committee in December 1932 headed by Rao Bahadur A. B. Chougule then Chief justice of Kolhapur state.
For the admission of the first year of both courses(3 years and 5 years law course), the State Common Entrance Test (CET-Law) is compulsory. For the admission process into the Diploma courses, the students are admitted to the said courses on first come first basis. The admission is governed by Shivaji University, Kolhapur.
