Pharmacognosy derived from two Greek words, "Pharmakon" or drug and "gnosis" or knowledge like many contemporary fields of science, Pharmacognosy has undergone significant change in recent years and today represents a highly interdisciplinary science which is one of five major areas of pharmaceutical education.

Pharmaceutical chemistry is a branch, which deals with specific activity of organic compounds that are dependent on advance in many fields like pure science, applied as well as clinical studies. So, it provides knowledge of drug reaction at cellular events. It also deals with stereo-chemical arrangements, solubility and molecular modeling with the help of computer aided drug design.

Pharmacology also includes pharmacokinetic studies, pharmacodynamics, pharmacogenomics, biochemical studies, clinical pharmacology and practical pharmacology. The practical Pharmacology includes various experiments for the studies of the effects of drugs on various animal models using different apparatus.

Computer Lab.

It is one of the finest in the region. The central computer facility is supplemented with a campus wide local area network. The inter-building cable segments have been laid under ground through out the campus. The campus computer network is connected to the Internet through a high sped VSAT dish with broadband as well as Wi-Fi connectivity to the students.
The students have their own Internet accounts and can access information at their convenience. The Computer Lab is open most of the day to enable students to work beyond class hours throughout the week.

A museum is an institution that houses and cares for a collection of artifacts and other objects of scientific, artistic, or historical importance and makes them available for public viewing through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary.

Digital Library

The Digital Library initiated in 2006 at SBS College of Pharmacy, Patti it is the first pharmaceutical digital library in the state. It serves members of the campus in meeting their academic & research needs by providing timely & up-to-date information with value added services in all the areas of pharmacy. Apart from the Digital Library Reading Room, members can access from the entire campus.
