SN College Infrastructure: Library, Labs, Gym, Auditorium, Cafeteria & Other Facilities

Infrastructure :-  

Historical building: 

The College has a beautiful building with twenty four spacious class rooms having necessary paraphernalia. This historical building is the pride possession of our town and we are proud to say that the building is almost hundred years of age.   

New block: 

The new block of the college has been erected with the joint efforts of the SES and LMC. The Punjab Government had also sent Rs. 13,00,000 to complete the construction. The classes have been started in these newly constructed class rooms of the New Block.

Canteen: 

The college has a spacious canteen with separate rooms for the teachers and students. The canteen contractor serves the hygienic food material at the reasonable prices. The canteen thus helps students to become refreshed and relaxed. In this way, college canteen makes the stay of students enjoyable at the campus.   

Laboratories: 

There are three different spacious laboratories for the Chemistry, Physics and Biology departments. Each lab has been equipped with the required apparatus to conduct the practical classes. 

Computer lab: 

There is a modern fully air conditioned computer lab, which efficiently serves the needs of BCA, DCA and PGDCA students. The lab has 80 high tech computers with networking and high speed internet facilities. A few years back, 15 new high tech computers were purchased for the students of M Sc IT. From the UGC grants, New Desktops, All in One Computers, Laptop, Projectors, LED, and Printers have also been added in the existing stock. 

Guru hargobind stadium: 

The stadium has been constructed to promote sports activities in the college campus. People of the surrounding area and sports persons practice different games during the morning and evening times. With the help of UGC grants and government schemes, the stadium has been expanded further and new rooms have constructed. 

Salient Features Of The Stadium 

The stadium has standard, 400 m six lane track.
A multipurpose building has been constructed with facilities like change rooms and bathrooms.
At one corner of the track, the shooting range, a “Kabbadi” ground, volley ball ground, etc are the additional features of the stadium.
The stadium has been equipped with an underground network of water pipes and a submersible pump for supplying water.
New rooms have been constructed. 

Playgrounds: 

There are separate and spacious playgrounds for games like basketball, football, hockey, cricket, volleyball and badminton. Each play ground has the required paraphernalia. 

General useful appliances: 

The college owns the modern audio-visual equipments, like projector, screen, CD player, VCR, TV, LED TV etc. All modern facilities like electric generators, two water coolers fitted with Aqua guards, a Xerox machine, fax, printer, and scanner are there in the college. 

College library: 

The Library offers an excellent collection of books and magazines on different subjects. There are 32876 books in the college library. Twenty two daily newspapers (Punjabi, Hindi & English) and thirty-five weekly/Monthly/Annual magazines/periodicals are being subscribed by the college Library.  New books are added to the existing stock as per needs and requirements of the students and the staff. Books of worth Rs 1,20,000 have been purchased for different subjects.  Every Year, new books are added to its stock to cater and update the academic requirements. 

Salient Features Of Our Library 

The library remains open from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Every student is provided a library diary cum I.D. Card, at the time of admission. Books are issued only, on the presentation of the above-mentioned card.
The library offers the facility to borrow books from its Book Bank to poor, needy, deserving and intelligent students, for the whole academic session.
The library has been equipped with hi-tech facilities like Internet, Audio-Visual aids, Reprography and Computerized Reference Services.
In the library, separate accommodation has been managed for boys, girls, postgraduate students and the teaching staff. 

Note : 

It is the duty of library staff, teachers and students to maintain pin-drop silence, inside the library.  
While borrowing a book, students should satisfy themselves that the book is in good condition. If, a book is in improper state, it should immediately be reported to the librarian otherwise, the students will be held responsible to pay for any damage or loss of the book in their possession.
All the books must be returned on or before the due date. If, the books are returned after the due date, a fine of Rs. 1 per day would be charged from the student. 

College Transportation 

The College provides transportation facility to its students on nominal charges. Our three buses cover three different routes and Students from 30 villages avail this transportation facility of the College. This year, a new route has been identified and a bus has been started which covers more than 10 villages.
