Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Directorate of Distance Education, [SKUCDE] Ananthapuramu, had started as a postgraduate centre in the year 1967-68. It was affiliated in the year 1988. The University provides higher education needs of the Rayalaseema region in general and the Ananthapuramu District in particular. The University gained autonomy in the year 1976.

Sri Krishnadevaraya University Admission can be done on various academic programs that lead to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees. The undergraduate courses like B.A. and B.Com were introduced in the academic year 2005-06. The courses in SKU CDE offers in various streams in arts, commerce, computers, etc. The University initially started with five departments and 100 students and now the university has five campuses,  SKU College of Arts, SKU College of Sciences, SKU College of Engineering and Technology, SKU College of Education, and SKU College of Pharmacy.

In the Academic year 2000-2001, the university established the center of Distance Education (CDE) by introducing Postgraduate courses under distance mode. This was introduced for those who are not able to continue their regular courses. CDE was later renamed as Directorate of Distance Education from the Academic Year 2011-12. The main aim of the university is to provide higher education to big sections of the population mainly to the disadvantaged sections of the society.

SKU CDE Courses:

The University offers undergraduate, postgraduate courses in the field of arts, commerce and computers. The courses B.A. and B.Com were introduced in the academic year 2005-06. Now, Directorate of Distance Education offers B.A, B.Com (Gen), B.Sc, B.Com (Computers), B.Ed and B.L.I.Sc. The Postgraduate and P.G Diploma courses being offered by the DDE includes M.A in Telugu, History, Economics, English, etc and M.Sc in Organic Chemistry, Physics, Zoology, etc. It also offers M.Com, MBA and PGDCA.

The fee particulars vary on the types of courses. Different programmes have different fee structure. some of them are mentioned below:

• For all the three year BA course, the fees charged is 3000 per year.
• For the B.Com General, the fees charged is 3000 per year while for BCom Computers it charges 4200 per year.
• For the BBA course 1 st year it is 4800, 2nd year it is 6000 and 7200 for the 3rd year.
• For the 2 year Post Graduate Courses, the fees charged are 4200 per year.

SKU CDE Admission Procedure:

The Admissions of the university can be submitted online through the official website. For UG candidates an entrance test is applicable which is conducted through the study centres. The application procedure for the courses are mentioned below:

• A login ID is provided for the courses through official website
• A Candidate should Register first and then login.
• Fill the Application Form and pay the application fee through online payment option
• Take the printout of the Application form and the candidate should sign the application form.
• Candidates should keep the signed copy of the Bank Receipt and filled the application form for further correspondence.

The UG candidates should enclose the following documents along with the application:

1. Attested Xerox copy of Date of birth certificate
2. Xerox Copy of SSC or its equivalent certificate.
3. Copy of Bank Receipt related course fee.
4. Original Intermediate Pass Certificate along with Xerox copy.

The PG students should submit the following Xerox copies of the certificates along with the application form:

1. Intermediate Marks Memo
2. SSC Marks Memo
3. The Copy of Bank Receipt towards the course fee
4. Degree Marks Memos and Provisional Certificate or Original Degree certificate along with a set of Xerox copies.

B. Ed students should submit the following Xerox copies of the certificates along with the application form.

1. Intermediate Marks Memo
2. SSC Marks Memo
3. Caste Certificate, if applicable.
4. No Objection certificate by DEO/ Commissioner
5. Residence Certificate or Study Certificate from IX class to Degree
6. Degree Marks Memos and Provisional or Original Degree certificate
7. Service certificate issued by MEO/DEO/ Commissioner etc.
8. NCTE recognized teacher education programme through face-to-face mode
