Syamaprasad College was established in 1945 and is approved and affiliated to University of Calcutta. The College was founded by Dr Syamaprasad Mukherjee. The College then introduced an evening section for a commerce college called Asutosh College of Commerce. The College is an undergraduate college and is situated in West Bengal. The main motto of the college is to provide students with a good and systematic education in Humanities, Science and Commerce.Syamaprasad College Admission can be done online on the official website of the college. The College offers many undergraduate courses specialized in Commerce. The College received permission of the university to teach Honours Courses in Accounting and in Secretarial Practice in Commerce. The College has an annexe building which offers courses in Bachelor of Science specialising in Computer Science, Electronics Hons, Computer Application and Geography Hons.

Syamaprasad College has its genesis in Asutosh College and has designed in such a way to meet the growing demand for higher education in commerce. The College got the name "SYAMAPRASAD COLLEGE" in 1962 after the demise of the founder Dr Mukherjee. The College became a premier centre of excellence in Commerce Education in a short span of time. It also has a positive attitude to make social contributions by serving students of weaker sections of society. Syamaprasad aims to encourage Self-evaluation, Creativity, Accountability and Self-discipline. It provides to stimulate the Academic Environment for Promotion of Quality Teaching - Learning in the Institution. • The Annual fee for the B.Com Accounting and Finance is 3610/-
• The Annual Fee for the Major in Computer Application is 13,010/-
• The Fees for Mathematics (Hons) will be 6,210/-

Syamaprasad College Facilities:

The College has a well-equipped library on the 3rd floor of the main campus. The Library is under the charge of an experienced librarian. Around 25,000 books are available in the library. Honour Students can borrow two books at a time. A fine of Rs.1 per day is charged from students who failed to return at the right time.

The library is rich in a good number of periodicals, journals and magazines both of general and specialised areas. Books and Magazines can also be borrowed with the Reference Card for using in Reading Room in the leisure period. 

Students must maintain strict silence in the Library. Borrowers are responsible for the books or magazines issued to them and they are strictly against to lend the book to others. Books damaged or lost by the borrower will have to replace at his/her cost.

Syamaprasad College Admissions:

Syamaprasad admission can be done online by filling the Application forms. Candidates can apply for more than one Honours or Major subjects by filling up separate forms. Separate payments are applicable for the separate applications. Online Application is a 4 step process.

1. Filling up the form.

   All the certificates have to be uploaded and all the fields are mandatory mainly uploading a photo, signature etc.

2. Submission of Application form:

   Before submitting the form check all the details particularly the date of birth. Candidates can check the details and go back to edit the form before the final submission. After the submission the next window appears will be the Payment window.

3. Online Payment:

   After the successful completion of all the required fields, there will appear a payment gateway button for paying the application fees.

4. Check the Payment Status:

   After the payment, an SMS will be sent after the payment is confirmed.
