There are several MBA Entrance Exams in India such as CAT, XAT, MAT, NMAT, SNAP, IIFT, and others. Candidates who wish to get into an IIM must sit for CAT exams. While candidates willing to join Tier 2 colleges can opt for MAT or CMAT.
MBA entrance exams are conducted to shortlist the candidates for MBA admissions. There are more than 50 entrance exams for admission into top MBA colleges in India such as CAT, XAT, MAT, SNAP, and NMAT, etc. The most popular is the CAT exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). In India, MBA entrance exams are conducted at three different levels.
If a candidate is aiming to get into the IIMs, then he/she should sit for the CAT exam, whereas if a candidate is aiming for any Tier 2 college, they can go for the CMAT exam or MAT entrance exam. However, in 2022, the National Testing Agency introduced the CUET-PG Exam, a pan-India entrance exam for multiple courses including an MBA.
