18 Engineering Colleges May Lose Anna University Affiliation: An inspection led by Anna University revealed a serious deficit in infrastructure and faculty members in more than 50% of the 225 universities. Moreover, these Universities are likely to lose their affiliations as stated in the notice.
However, the University has decided to grant affiliation to 207 colleges based on the compliance report submitted by them post the notice on infrastructural gaps.
Moreover, the varsity in May and June this year conducted a physical investigation of 476 engineering colleges, stand alone architectural colleges. And, also a few of those offering MBA and MCA programs.

In fact, the university notified 225 engineering and standalone colleges lacking infrastructure and faculty members. The Vice Chancellor states colleges were given four weeks notice. To upgrade labs and classrooms. Furthermore, they had to appoint new faculty members. Also, the experts decided to give extension of approval to the rest of colleges based on their compliance report.
Eighteen colleges will not get approvals for affiliations as they did not show any improvements in the last four weeks. Also, three colleges did not enroll any students in the past three years, and were asking for extensions of approval. Hence, it is not possible for these colleges to amp up their infrastructure in such a short period of time.
Anna University holds the power to de-affiliate a course or college or even seats. In case, the institution does not file the compliance report on time.
