CLAT 2021: How to Calculate Cut-Offs; Cut-Offs from CLAT 2020

The Consortium of NLUs will admit aspirants after a centralised CLAT 2021 counselling and seat allotment process for participating NLUs. Admission to NLU LLB programmes is made based on CLAT merit rank. The Consortium of NLUs released a CLAT cut-off which is the last rank for which an aspirant gets admission to an NLU.

However, the CLAT cut-off depends on many factors like seat intake, programme applied for admission, CLAT 2021 merit rank of applicants, etc. Usually, a top NLU gets more applications than a lowly ranked university. Hence, these universities release cut-offs to shortlist the applications to admit students.

How is the CLAT 2021 Cut-off Determined?

This year, the CLAT 2021 exam is scheduled for 23 July 2021 in pen and paper mode. Therefore, the factors that determine the CLAT cut-off for an institute are as follows:

1. Total applicants for the programme
2. The merit rank of these applicants in the CLAT 2021 exam
3. Seat intake for the programme
4. Category (SC, ST, etc.)
5. NIRF Ranking of the institute.

If any of the parameters mentioned above change, then the final cut-off is also different.
