CUET-UG 2022: The Highest Number of Applications Received by Delhi University
According to the update from the NTA, nearly half of the applications of the CUET-UG 2022 were received by the universities in North India.
According to the update from the NTA, nearly half of the applications of the entrance test were received by the universities in North India. Furthermore, eight central universities, two state universities, and two private universities primarily concentrated in four north Indian states received the maximum number of applications.
The CUET has 90 participating institutes this year. The institutes include 44 central universities, 2 state government-run universities, and 21 private and 13 deemed universities. There were a total of 9.9 Lakh participants attendees of the exam this year. Besides, the number goes up to 14 lakh if subject choices are considered, as candidates can choose multiple subjects. Candidates have made around 54,555 unique combination choices of subjects.
Data From CUET-UG 2022 Applications
The official data from the National testing agency about CUET-UG 2022 shows that there has been a total of 58.5 lakh applications. Candidates can make multiple applications by paying a common application fee. This is a benefit of the single window system of the entrance exam. Notably, half of these applications are for 13 Universities. All but one of these universities are located in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.
The centrally-run Delhi University has received around 6.63 lakh applications. Following are Banaras Hindu University, which has 4.34 lakh applications, and the University of Allahabad, with 2.62 lakh applications. As for Private universities, the ones that have received more than 1 lack applications are IIMT University (168439), Galgotias University (123534) and Apex University (101103). The two state Universities with more than 1 lakh applications are Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University in Lucknow and Dr. BR Ambedkar University in Delhi.
Other Universities that received more than 1 lack applications are:
- Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University – 1.8 Lakh
- Jamia Millia Islamia – 1.44 lakh
- Rajiv Gandhi University – 1.40 lakh
- Hemvati Nandan Bahugana Garhwal University – 1.11 lakh
- Central University, Haryana – 1.09 Lakh
