CUET UG Phase 4: Candidates Claim Last Moment Exam Centre Change, Demand Clarity on Retest
CUET-UG Phase 4 exam was canceled at 13 exam centres on Wednesday following technical glitches affecting over 8600 candidates.
CUET UG Phase 4: Students on the second day of CUET’s Phase 4 exam were worried a lot about change in exam centres at the last moment, far-off centres, and no clarity on retest options.
The exam on Wednesday was cancelled in 13 centres due to technical glitches which affected over 8600 students.
CUET UG aspirant Neha Singhal stated that “My intimation slip mentioned my chosen city as the exam centre city. However, when I got the admit card, I got a centre which is 150 km away and the entry closes at 8:30 AM. So, I have been trying to reach NTA but no luck yet.”
The University Grants Commission (UGC) announced that the candidates who could not attend the exam on Wednesday will get a chance to take a retest on August 25, 2022.
Over 3.6 lakh candidates are eligible to take the Phase 4 CUET-UG exam scheduled from August 17 to 20, 2022.
The additional 11,000 candidates who were to appear for the exam from August 17-20, have been postponed to August 30 to accommodate their choice of city for the exam centre.
According to NTA, all the phases of CUET-UG exams were scheduled to conclude on August 20. NTA later announced that all the phases of the exam will conclude on August 28.
Due to the on going scenario, the exam has been further deferred and the exam has been split into 6 phases.
UGC Chief stated that the exam was cancelled at various centres due to technical glitches. The second and third phase were also cancelled in Kerala and Itanagar due to rain and landslides.
