The DU colleges will process the applications from Dec 30 to 31. The last date to pay the admission fee for DU UG 2022 admission special spot round 2 is Dec 31.
According to a senior DU official, only over 3,500 seats at Delhi University were allocated to candidates in the special spot round, and nearly 6,000 seats at various colleges remain vacant. All 70,000 seats across colleges won't be filled this academic year.
DU Dean of Admission Haneet Gandhi stated that "In the last spot admission round, the university has allocated around 3,500. We will conclude the admission process for the academic session by Dec 31".
When asked whether any more rounds will be announced, Haneet Gandhi also stated that "No, this is the last round for DU UG admission 2022 into undergraduate programmes." This means even if the 3,500 candidates accept the allocated seats, 2,500 seats across colleges will remain vacant.
Delhi University will be admitting students this year based on their performance on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) rather than their marks from Class 12. The majority of the seats are vacant in off-campus colleges. The majority of these colleges have previously had trouble filling seats.
