GSHSEB Reinstates the Old Examination System for Class 9-12 Students
Gujarat State Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) reinstated the old exam pattern from 9th to 12th, from pre-covid times.
In the latest decision, Gujarat State Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) reinstated the old exam pattern from 9th to 12th. The board will now follow the exam pattern from pre-covid times, i.e., 2019-2020.
During pandemic times, the board changed the examination pattern. But now, as the situation has seemingly improved, the Gujarat board has decided to reinstate the earlier examination pattern.
Change in exam pattern is for the mark weightage. Earlier in the 2019-2020 session, the marks weightage for objective questions was 20, and for subjective questions, it was 80. During a pandemic, the objective questions were 30 marks, and the subjective questions were 70.
This change in exam pattern will also be visible for the 10th board. Out of 100 marks, 20 marks are for internal assessment. Out of 80 marks, 20 percent weightage would be objective; therefore, out of 80, 16 marks are accessible through objective questions, and subjective questions would help students gain 64 marks.
It has also been announced that the change in exam format if any, would be soon announced by the board. Sources have also informed that these decisions on exam pattern and format have been taken after studying three previous circulars by the board. In case of any further changes, the announcement will be made at the appropriate time. There has not been any response from schools or students as of now.
