Higher Education Institutions Must Celebrate Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav From Today: UGC Emphasizes
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to celebrate 75 days long Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav from today, Sep 28.
To mark the birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati on Dec 11, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has instructed all the Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to celebrate the 75 days long Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav starting from today, Sep 28.
The Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav is part of the ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat and the theme of this year’s Utsav will be "Several Languages, Expression One".
Additionally, the Ministry of Education will conduct the ‘Technology and Bharatiya Bhasha Summit’ at Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi on Sep 30 and Oct 1.
As a part of Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav, UGC has instructed the HEIs to conduct exhibitions, key historical figures, famous literature, cultural, historical and spiritual unity of all Indian languages.
Furthermore, UGC has also directed the HEIs to set up a technology zone featuring different tools and software for students that can be used for learning Indian languages. These zones will have software tools which can be used for translating, downloading and teaching the languages.
The Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav will be held from Sep 28 to Dec 11. During these 75 days, HEIs will conduct competitions such as language quizzes, debates, poetry recitation and essay writing. Cultural programmes depicting local traditions, folk art, street plays and dramas will also be conducted.
