ICAI Issues Notification for Opt-Out Option For July Session Exams

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has released a notification mentioning the details of the opt-out option provided to aspirants appearing for the CA 2021 July exams. This notification provides many modifications related to the original opt-out option for the aspirants.  Earlier, the Supreme Court had directed the ICAI to offer an opt-out option for the July 2021 examinations. Thus, the institute has made changes in compliance with the order issued by the Supreme Court.

The notification stated, “In continuation of the ICAI Announcement dated 21st June 2021 regarding the Opt Out option for the examinees for Chartered Accountant Examinations, July 2021, it is hereby informed that the same stands modified.”

Aspirants can read the full notification by visiting the ICAI’s official website. The ICAI has also tweeted the same on its official Twitter handle. The notification also mentioned that aspirants opting out of the May/July 2021 examination can appear for the November 2021 session. However, the institute will consider the November session exams as the last attempt for the Old course Final and Intermediate/IPC examination students.

Therefore, the opt-out option is available for aspirants appearing for the Final, Intermediate/IPC, Foundation, and PCC courses for May/July 2021. Additionally, the notification stated that the ICAI will hold the CA examinations from 5 July 2021 to 20 July 2021. Moreover, the ICAICA Foundation exams will commence on 24 July 2021.
