The Indian Institute of Technology has declared an additional 2 new paper combinations for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. They have also added 23 new exam cities to conduct the exams. Therefore, GATE registrations for 2023 at IIT Kanpur begin on August 30. Students can apply at gate.iitk.ac.in.
Moreover, the total number of cities for GATE 2023 is now 219, with the new addition of 23 new cities. Authorities at the institute say that this decision extends accessibility to students in the rural belts of India. Consequently, reaching a higher number of aspirants from all over the country.

IIT Kanpur Adds 2 New Paper Combinations – GATE 2023
The Gate 2023 test is computer-based and will cover 29 subject areas. Additionally, students will get the choice to select 2 papers in some subjects. Along with the addition of 23 new cities, the website has also announced how IIT Kanpur Adds 2 New Paper Combinations.
Subsequently, the institute has eliminated some paper combinations due to logistical and operational issues. Since IIT Kanpur Adds 2 New Paper Combinations, applicants can choose two options from a vast range of interdisciplinary areas.
Importantly, GATE tests students on the various UG subjects in engineering, sciences, humanities and social sciences. Hence, candidates can apply after completing any government degree in engineering, technology, architecture, sciences, commerce and arts. Candidates studying in the third or higher years of UG degree programs can also apply.
The examination also allows students from Science, Commerce and Arts backgrounds to take it, allowing them better future opportunities. Candidates can fill out the form by September 30.

According to the notification, IIT Kanpur Adds 2 new paper combinations along with 23 new cities. IIT Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee and IISc Bangalore are conducting GATE 2023 together. The cities are divided into eight zones, while IIT Kanpur is the conducting body.
IIT Kanpur is conducting it on behalf of the National Coordination Board and the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Govt. of India.
Lastly, the exam will take place in international cities like Dhaka, Dubai, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur, Male, Port Louis, Singapore, and Thimphu. Candidates may take this examination from any Indian centre.
