JEE Main 2023 Application Form: Eligibility Based on Nationality
Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the below-mentioned JEE Main 2023 Eligibility criteria based on nationality before filling out the JEE Main 2023 Application Form:
- For the criteria based on nationality, the state code of eligibility will be considered to determine the candidate's eligibility. The state code of eligibility is the code of the state from which the candidates passed their class 12 exam.
- Candidates who are appearing for or passed the NIOS class 12 exam must select the state code of JEE Main eligibility according to the state in which their study centre is located.
- For Indian nationals who completed their Class 12 or equivalent exams from an institution abroad, the code for the state of eligibility will be the code of the state in the permanent address mentioned on their passports. In the same way, an Indian candidate who passed their class 12 exam from Nepal or Bhutan must mention the state in the permanent address mentioned on their password while filling out the JEE Main Application Form 2023.
- Furthermore, for OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) or PIO (Person of Indian Origin) candidates who completed their class 12 or any equivalent exam in India, the state eligibility code will be the same as for an Indian citizen. However, if the candidates belonging to these categories pass their class 12 exam from any foreign institution, they will only be eligible for Other State Quota Seats or the All India Quota Seats (but strictly not for Home State Quota Seats).
