As per reports, the Ministry of Education is still finalising the exam calendar for the various entrance exams for the year 2023. The officials at the NTA had given an update regarding the JEE Main exam sessions in early November, stating that the exam will be conducted in 2 sessions, similar to this year. The officials at the Ministry of Education also partially confirmed the same. The NTA and the UGC are still discussing the dates for the JEE, CUET, and NEET exams for 2023 to avoid any confusion and overlap. This has also been part of the process in previous years.
The patterns in the years before the pandemic was such that the JEE main and NEET exams were conducted on similar timelines for notification release, admit card release, exam date and result. However, this was disrupted by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the pandemic has subsided, it is expected that the conduction of the exam will return to the original pattern. There is also the chance that the JEE Main exam might be conducted on the same day every year, starting next year.
As stated above, the exam dates for JEE Main 2023 will likely be announced this week. However, since the first attempt dates are expected to be in mid-January, concerns are rising that it leaves only 6 weeks for the exam. It will be difficult for the agency to conduct the registration process and the exam in the span of just 6 weeks. Candidates must regularly check the official websites for the latest updates.
