JEE Main 2023 Exam on Jan 24: Check NTA Tie Breaking Policy for JEE Main
National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2023 from Jan 24 onwards. NTA released a tie-breaking criteria for students scoring same marks.
JEE Main 2023 Exam: Joint Entrance Examination- Mains 2023 for January session is scheduled to be conducted from Jan 24, 2023. NTA will establish certain tie-breaking policies for JEE Main 2023 exam based on the shifts for the exam and the scores obtained by the candidates. The overall marks of the candidates will be determined by the conducting body according to these policies.
NTA Tie-Breaking Policy for JEE Main 2023
According to the latest notification released by NTA, if two or more candidates obtain the same marks in JEE Main 2023 exam , the tie will be resolved based on their marks in JEE Main exam 2023 Paper 1, and the tie-breaking policy will be considered to calculate the total scores. The JEE Main 2023 tie-breaking pattern that will be used are listed below in the order of consideration.
- JEE Main score in Mathematics
- JEE Main score in Physics
- JEE Main score in Chemistry
- Candidate with a lower percentage of attempted wrong answers compared to right responses across all exam subjects will be given priority.
- Candidate with a lower percentage of attempted wrong answers compared to right responses in Mathematics section will be given priority.
- Candidate with a lower percentage of attempted wrong answers compared to right responses in Physics section will be given priority.
- Candidate with a lower percentage of attempted wrong answers compared to right responses in Chemistry section will be given priority.
- The older candidate will be given higher priority.
- The application number of the candidates will be considered in the ascending order.

JEE Main 2023 Exam Pattern
Candidates who are appearing for JEE Main 2023 exam must be aware of the exam pattern, marking scheme, number of questions, etc. JEE Main 2023 exam pattern for the two papers of the exam are tabulated below. Candidates must attempt 5 numerical questions from each section.
