JEE Main Result 2022 Normalization
Authorities use the process of normalisation to deal with the fact that the JEE Main examination is held in two sessions and that the level of difficulty varies. The normalised JEE Main 2022 score released by the NTA shows the percentage of candidates whose scores are equal to or lower than the highest-scoring candidate in that session. The formula for calculating NTA scores is as follows:
Formula – (100 x number of candidates who appeared in the session with a raw score equal to or less than the candidate) / total number of candidates who appeared in that session
Candidates should be aware that the normalised NTA score does not correspond to the percentage of marks obtained in the examination.
JEE Main Result 2022 Percentile
The National Testing Agency computes the JEE Main for percentile purposes separately for each subject (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics) as well as in the combined format using the normalisation formula shown below
Total Percentile (T1P) | (100 x No. of candidates from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the T1 score) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Mathematics Percentile (M1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appearing from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the M1 score in Mathematics)
/ Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Physics Percentile (P1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appearing from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the P1 score in Physics) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
Chemistry Percentile (C1P) | (100 x No. of candidates appearing from the session with a raw score equal to or less than the C1 score in Chemistry) / Total No. of candidates who appeared in the session |
