JNU 2021 Admissions Will Likely Begin from 1 August
National Testing Agency authorities will likely publish application forms for the JNU admissions process on 1 August 2021.
National Testing Agency (NTA) authorities will likely publish application forms for the JNU admissions process 2021 on 1 August 2021. Additionally, the registration deadline for the 2021-2022 academic year will be 31 August 2021. This year, the entire admissions process will occur wholly online due to COVID-19 constraints.
The official report states, “The JNU entrance examination 2021 will likely take place at the end of September. The JNUEE 2021 exam will occur in computer-based mode. The complete JNU admission process is expected to be over by November.” In addition, JNU VC Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar has stated that NTA will oversee the examination. However, the university has yet to share the finalized examination schedule, likely due to COVID-19 concerns. Vice-chancellor Kumar also announced that the university would become CUCET-affiliated. Hence, admissions to JNU could derive from scores in the standard entrance test from the 2022-23 academic year.
The university has 1,583 PG seats, 982 UG seats, and 982 Ph.D. seats available for the 2021-22 academic year. Additionally, candidates can obtain admissions to all programmes through the JNU entrance examination. Moreover, starting this year, the university will no longer offer the MPhil. This course omission is due to the JNU administration adhering to the newly released National Education Policy. Instead, the university has initiated six new Ph.D. programmes for the 2021-22 academic year. These include system medicine, mechanical engineering, microsystems, electronics and communication engineering, national security studies, and computer science engineering. Hence, the university has advised interested candidates to routinely check the official website for updates regarding admissions for the 2021-22 academic year.
