Kurukshetra University becomes the first University in Haryana to implement NEP, 2020. The Online admission procedure begins.
Kurukshetra University implement NEP: Kurukshetra University becomes the First University of Haryana to implement National Education Policy (NEP), 2020. The Online Admission procedure of UG under NEP, 2020 will begin from 3rd August, 2022 in Institute of integrated and honors studies (IIHS) of Kurukshetra University.
Kurukshetra University implements NEP: Highlights, Number of Seats, Courses
There are total 1,400 seats for admission in Humanities, Science, Commerce, Tourism, Computer. There are 5-year integrate programs in IIHS. NEP will be implemented in all affiliated colleges of KU from the session 2023. The NEP liberates education and makes education student-centric. All the UG courses will be a 4 year graduation degree in honors and research. The Student will have the option not only go for dual degree but also choose across the disciplines, for example A humanities pursuing student can opt for Science Courses and vice versa.
Kurukshetra University implements NEP: Number of Credits, NEP Focus
According to the KU Vice chancellor, The students will have to acquire a minimum of 4 credits of skill courses, 12 credits in subject specific skills as well as 4 credits in life skills. The primary focus of NEP would be on conceptual learning, critical thinking and students’ comprehensive development both in academics and non-academic ground. Various digital platforms such as UGC, Mobile Apps, satellite-based TV channels are also available. Plethora online courses such as MOOCs (Swayam) Modules and ICT-equipped libraries are also provided for gaining knowledge.
Kurukshetra University implements NEP: Course Framework
Community Development, human values, ethics and service to humanity will be in the integrated in the UG curriculum. There will be multiple entry as well as exit options available to the students as stated by Prof. Som Nath. The credits earned by a student will be credit to the Academic Bank of Credit (ABC) account. These credits will remain intact and are transferable if someone drops out and decides to joins later.

Internship will be a mandatory part of course framework and students will have the option to write their exams and assignment in Hindi ass well. With ABC, the overall earned credits will be counted and put it in their degrees. The students will also have an option of direct entry into PhD after 4-year graduation degree (honors and research) However, only if their CGPA is 7.5 or above. said by Prof. Manjula Choudhary, KU Dean academic affairs.
