KVPY 2022 Postponed Due to Rise in COVID-19 Omicron Cases

Officials have decided to postpone the KVPY 2022 fellowship exam amid rising concerns around the Omicron surge in several states. According to the official update, the KVPY exam has been deferred until further notice due to a rapid rise in Omicron cases and several COVID-19 hotspots throughout the country. However, the exam authority had not made any decision until yesterday with regards to the postponement of the KVPY exam.

The authority had scheduled to conduct the exam on 9 January 2022. However, following concerns shared by candidates and the COVID-19 restrictions and weekend curfew announcement in many states, the exam authority has decided to postpone the exam for now.

Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a government-funded national fellowship programme that promotes science education and motivates students to choose a career in basic science courses and research. Further, students studying in class 12 and 1st-year students pursuing any undergraduate programme (B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology) in basic science are eligible for this fellowship. IISER is in charge of holding the KVPY 2022 and has already released the admit cards for the fellowship exam. Hence, KVPY admit cards are available for candidates online via the official website, kvpy.iisc.ac.in.
