NEET-UG 2021: Migration Certificate Not ‘Mandatory’, Latest Notice by MCC; Check Details Here
MCC has stated in its latest notification that Migration Certificate is no longer mandatory for candidates appearing in NEET-UG Counselling.
According to the latest notification issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) about NEET-UG Counselling 2021, a candidate is eligible for provisional admission even without a migration certificate. The notice states that the migration certificate is a ‘desirable’ document but not ‘mandatory’. Therefore, if a student is unable to produce the migration certificate at the time of counselling, the colleges are still required to give them provisional admission. However, the candidates must submit an undertaking stating that they will produce a migration certificate within the next 7 days.
The official notice states that ‘it is advised to colleges that in case any candidate is not able to produce ‘Migration Certificate’, the college can admit the candidate provisionally by receiving an Undertaking from the candidate that he/she will submit the Migration certificate within a period of 7 days. The candidate may not be denied admission for not having Migration Certificate.’

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is an entrance examination for students who wish to study undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses (MBBS, MD, MS) and dental courses (BDS, MDS) in any government private, or dental colleges in India. The registration for NEET counselling 2021 for round 2 started on 16 Feb 2022, and the last date to register was 21 Feb 2022.
