Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2022: The Delhi High Court ordered Medical Colleges to increase the number of seats as improving the medical infrastructure was essential to meet the growing demand for qualified doctors, and that deserving colleges should not be denied the opportunity to strengthen the ranks of medical professionals as it permitted a Tamil Nadu college to increase enrollment of students for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2022.

The high court made this statement while addressing a case filed by the Tamil-named Dhanalakshmi Srinivasan Medical College and Hospital, which raised the issue of the refusal of a request to enhance student enrollment from 150 to 250.

It instructed the authorities to grant the college permission to admit 250 students as part of the ongoing Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling 2022 process for the MBBS program. It also instructed them to issue the necessary directives immediately and inform the appropriate authority or body of the Tamil Nadu government of the order to add 250 seats to its seat matrix.

According to Justice Sanjeev Narula, expanding the medical infrastructure is essential to fulfilling the population's growing need for more qualified doctors. As a result, the National Medical Commission (NMC) and other regulatory agencies play a critical role.

The authorization procedure must be followed to ensure that the standard of medical education does not degrade.

According to the college's legal representative, it would be a huge waste of resources if authorization were not given for the institute to add up to 250 seats. The NMC submitted an affidavit outlining the shortcomings that, in their opinion, prevent the institution from receiving 250 seats, as instructed by the court.
