Admissions in Top 10 NIT Colleges in India
To secure admission in top 10 NIT colleges in India, students must clear the JEE Main entrance exam. Along with obtaining a good rank, students are required to register for counseling conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA). The final admission is granted based on seat availability in the preferred NITs and the choices made by the students during the counseling process.
The NITs have allocated a total of 19,000 seats for undergraduate programs and approximately 8,050 seats for postgraduate programs. The current admission policy mandates that 50 percent of the seats are reserved for students from the respective states where the NITs are located. The remaining 50 percent of seats are allocated based on the All India Ranks (AIR) of candidates from different states.
