UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has released the UGC NET December Application 2023 form for students interested in applying for Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor posts on its official website at ugcnet.nta.nic.in. Candidates must check the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023 before applying for these posts.

UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023

Candidates applying can check the age limit along with the educational qualifications required for this recruitment.

Age Limit 

• Junior Research Fellow (JRF) Posts: The age limit is up to 30 years.
• Assistant Professor Posts: No upper age limit is required.

Educational Qualifications

• Candidates from General/Unreserved/General-EWS should have a minimum of 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from a recognized university.
• Aspirants pursuing their Master’s degree (final year) whose results are pending/delayed can also apply.
• Students who have their PhD degrees and completed their Master's level examinations before Sept 19, 1991, will get a 5% relaxation in the required aggregate marks (50% instead of 55%).
• Candidates having a post-graduate diploma/certificate from an Indian University or any foreign degree/diploma/certificate by a foreign University must verify it with a Master's degree through the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi, as per the UGC NET Eligibility Criteria 2023.
