West Bengal HS Exam Dates Modified Due to JEE Main 2022
WBCHSE yesterday declared a modification in the timetable for some West Bengal HS exams since they were clashing with the JEE Main.
The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) yesterday declared a modification in the timetable for the West Bengal HS exams since they were clashing with the JEE Main 2022 dates. The Council made changes to four important exam dates in the timetable.
The president of WBCHSE, Chiranjib Bhattacharya, informed journalists that the exam would begin on 2 April 2022 as planned. However, the Council has modified the examination dates for a few papers, slated for April-end. Therefore, the West Bengal HS exams will conclude on 26 April 2022 rather than 20 April 2022. Higher Secondary exams were not conducted last year, considering the rising COVID-19 cases.
With the COVID-19 tally having declined late, candidates will be appearing for their exams offline this year. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has resolved to conduct JEE Main from 16 April 2022 to 21 April 2022. The WBCHSE committee altered its timetable for economics, statistics, chemistry, and other subject exams, to facilitate candidates to write the national level entrance exam, Chiranjib Bhattacharya said. WBCHSE will organise all papers in home centres only, the WBCHSE president added.
Meanwhile, the WBBSE commenced organising class 10 or Madhyamik board papers 2022 from 7 March. This year, approximately 11,18,821 students will write the paper comprising 4,96,890 boys and 6,21,931 girls. Many of the students are aspiring to give the JEE Main 2022 examination.
