About BOPTER
In 1968, the Ministry of Education and Culture established four Regional Boards of Practical Training (BOPT)/ Board of Apprenticeship Training (BOAT) as autonomous organisations to provide on-the-job training to fresh engineering graduates and diploma holders in engineering in an organised and effective manner.
The Board’s regional offices are in Kolkata, Chennai, Kanpur, and Mumbai. Following the establishment of the Regional Boards, the PTS Scheme was transferred to four Regional Boards, entrusting direct responsibility and autonomy to the Scheme administration.
