California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) is an institution of higher education that celebrates diversity and fosters long-term success. It is known for being an Asian American Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI), and a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). It is the 11th oldest school in the 23-campus California State University system.
California State University, Sacramento which was earlier known as Sacramento State College was founded in 1947, but not at its current location. Sacramento State College was originally housed on the grounds of Sacramento City College (then named Sacramento Junior College). Construction on CSUS began in May 1951 on what was a combination of hop fields and peach orchards.

All students enrolled at a CSU campus pay a per-semester systemwide tuition fee, in addition to campus mandatory fees. Non-resident students also pay a per-unit fee, and students enrolled in some graduate business programs have an additional per-unit fee. The tuition fee per semester for undergraduates is $1,665.
