AFCAT physcial eligibility criteria for female candidates are separated based on their height, weight, age, physical tests such as running, push-ups, pull-ups and more. The candidates are suggested to check all the eligibility requirements before taking up the AFCAT exams.
The candidates applying for AFCAT exam must pass the AFCAT physical tests. The parameters such as weight and height are separate for male and female candidates. However, we have mentioned all the criteria that are important for the AFCAT physical eligibility for females. The AFCAT exam physical eligibility for ground staff (technical and non-technical) and flying branches differ. Nevertheless, candidates are requested to stay at their best fitness level while appearing for AFCAT.
Furthermore, medical examinations will be carried separately for male and female candidates. Females will go through Medical Examination by a Medical Board composed of male/ female doctors/ specialists or Gynaecologists. Lady Medical Officer as a Member of the Board will be present during the examination.
AFCAT Exam Physical Eligibility for Females
To get through the physical standards of AFCAT, candidates must qualify for the following height criteria. Particular are the primary requirements for AFCAT. The candidates will be selected according to the height and weight factor for their age.

AFCAT Physical Eligibility
The minimum AFCAT physical criteria for the female applicants are as mentioned below. The AFCAT qualification is tested on various grounds, and the parameters are separate for each ground. Therefore, here are the various criteria according to the various grounds:
Physical Standard for AFCAT Flying Branch
- The minimum height for females (standing) - 162.5 cms
- The minimum height for females (Sitting):
- Minimum: 81.5 cms
- Maximum - 96 cms
- The weight and height should be proportionate.
- Leg Length:
- Minimum: 99 cms
- Maximum - 120 cms
- Thigh Length - Maximum: 64 cms
Physical Standard for AFCAT Ground Branch (Technical and Non-technical)
- The minimum height for females - 152 cms
- The weight and height should be proportionate.
NOTE: Candidates applying from Nepal, Assam, and other hilly areas may have different weight and height specifications.
AFCAT Physical Test Details
The AFCAT physical test for females will be conducted under the supervision of the Female Medical Officer as the representative member of the Board. Although, few things are not permitted while appearing for the AFCAT, such as tattoos and usage of drugs.
Permanent tattoos are acceptable only on a few selected body parts, such as the inner surface of the forearm (from inside of elbow to the wrist) and on the opposite side of the palm/ back (dorsal) surface of the hand. Furthermore, tattoos dedicated to specific tribes and communities will be accepted based on each case.
Additionally, while appearing for the AFCAT examination, candidates must not consume narcotic drugs. The candidates found under the possession or consumption of any narcotic drugs during medical examination, training, or service period will be permanently barred from the Indian Air Force.
AFCAT Physical Test Running
It is strongly advised to stay fit while registering for AFCAT. Candidates need to qualify for all the physical fitness tests. Therefore, candidates should be fit when appearing at the Service Selection Board for the Air Force Selection Board.
Here are the AFCAT physical test running requirements:
- Candidates must run 01 miles (1.6 km), do ten push-ups and three chin-ups in ten minutes.
- Additionally, candidates are required to stay fit while appearing for the AFSB.
AFCAT Physical Test Criteria
Among the other physical tests in AFCAT, vision is one of the most critical tests. Candidates have to qualify the visual standards for getting admissions into the Air Force. However, the vision standards are different for the flying branch and ground branch.
Additionally, if the candidates do not have a clear vision without spectacles, they are not fit for the flying branch. However, they can try for the other branches.

The flying branch has its physical test for AFCAT. There are certain limitations as well. However, now let us see the basic requirements for the flying branch.
