AFCAT Recruitment 2025 vacancies are available across all branches of Air Force job profiles. The Indian Air Force recruitment has declared vacancies along with the notification on the official website. Male and female applications will be considered individually for the available positions in the AFCAT recruitment process.
A total of 336 seats have been identified for the AFCAT recruitment 2025 process. The opening is for the posts of Flying Ground and Ground Duty posts. Further, the Ground Duty post has been divided into Technical and Non-Technical branches. The AFCAT 2025 Exam will be held on Feb 22-23, 2025.
AFCAT 1 Notification 2025
The AFCAT Notification 2025 was released on Dec 2, 2024. The registration process for it commenced on the same date, i.e., Dec 2, 2024, and concluded on Dec 31, 2024. Candidates were supposed to go through the notification before applying for the exam.
For Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Candidates will be called for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The AFCAT will be two hours duration and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Selected candidates will have to undergo further testing in two stages.
- Stage-I: comprises Intelligence Test along with other tests, and document checks.
- Stage-II: comprises a Psychological test, Group Tests, and interviews.
For Flying Branch: Candidates have to go through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). Duration is 2 hours and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Intelligence Tests, Psychological tests along with other tests, document checks, Group Tests interviews & CPSS (Computerised Pilot Selection System), and or PABT would also be administered.
For Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branch: Candidates have to go through the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT). The AFCAT will be two hours duration and will contain multiple-choice questions on verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness, and military aptitude. Additionally, Intelligence Tests, Psychological tests along with other tests, document checks, Group Tests, and interviews will be conducted.

Types of Commission Under AFCAT Recruitment 2025
The different commissions belonging to the Indian Air Force AFCAT recruitment 2025, under which the candidates will be recruited, are PC and SSC Commissions for men and women. The details for both the commissions are elaborated and given below for the reference of the candidates in the AFCAT recruitment 2025 notification.
PC
- This commission is available for male candidates only, and those who are joining the commission should continue to serve until the age of superannuation.
- The superannuation age of the candidates depends on their ranks and branches.
SSC
- The Flying Branch of the SSC Officers will have a service engagement period of 14 years from commissioning. This period is not extendable.
- The Technical and Non-technical branches of the Ground Duty SSC Officers should serve 10 years in the commission. Based on the availability of the AFCAT vacancies, suitability, candidates' willingness, and other factors, the service tenure will be extended to another 4 years.
- Candidates will be considered for the Grant of Permanent Commission during the last year of their tenure, based on the availability of AFCAT recruitment vacancies, suitability, candidates' willingness, etc.
Details of AFCAT Training
Candidates are recommended for training depending on their merit and the availability of AFCAT recruitment positions in various branches/sub-branches. Training takes 74 weeks for Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches and 52 weeks for Ground Duty (Non-technical) Branches at various Air Force Training Organisations.

AFCAT 2025 Salary Structure

Flying Officer
- A Flying Officer will be entitled to pay in Pay Band (INR 15,600 – INR 39,100) per month along with Grade Pay and military Service Pay. Dearness Allowances, Kit Maintenance & Transport Allowance.
- In addition, other allowances are applicable based on the nature of duty/ place of posting and would include Flying, Technical, Field Area, Special Compensatory (Hill area), Special Forces, Siachin, Island Special Duty, Test Pilot & Flight Test Engineer, Area, and Remote Locality.

- The pay and allowances are subject to enhancement based on the implementation of VII CPC (7th Pay Commission implementation)
