ISC Class 12 percentage 2024 is calculated using the weighted average approach. However, students must score at least 40 marks to pass the exam.
ISC Class 12th percentage is calculated by adding the scores from three subjects and then dividing the score by 4. Then multiply 100 by the resultant. According to the CISCE mark calculation criteria, CISCE uses the weighted average approach to calculate the percentage of marks obtained. As per the recent ISC exam pattern 2024, students must receive 40% in each subject to successfully pass the ISC 12th exam 2024.
Steps to Calculate Percentage of ISC Class 12th 2024
The weighted average approach calculates percentages for the ISC 12th result 2024. The steps mentioned below are to be followed to calculate the percentage of class 12th ISC:
- Step 1: A score of 3 subjects with the highest marks is to be added along with the marks scored in English.
- Step 2: The total score has to be divided by 4.
- Step 3: By doing this, you will get an average score.
- Step 4: Multiply the average score by 100.
Note: Here, in this process, students have to note that English is a mandatory subject.

ISC Percentage Formula 2024
As the marking scheme has been presented to and approved by the Supreme Court, there is now a set understanding of how marks shall be compiled. Students in ISC class 12th were formerly graded based on their average internal marks from the 11th and 12th grades. As a result, internal examinations and project work were used to generate internal grades.
In addition, the student's final grade in the 10th-grade board exams was a significant factor in deciding the final percentage. Furthermore, the candidate's best percentage from the previous six years will add weightage. In the academic year 2020-21, the students were evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Average marks from subject examinations from class 11th (2019 to 2020) and class 12th (2020 to 2021): 60% weightage
- Further internal assessment scores from project work and practical assessments: 30% weightage
- Average marks from class 10th (highest four subjects and English): 10% weightage

ISC Score Formulation Process 2024
The ISC score formulation process for 2024 will be updated with any official notification from the board. According to a CISCE legal affidavit filed last year in connection with the Supreme Court hearing, the board issued a notice on May 21, 2021.
The purpose of the notice was to collect requisite information and documents from schools with candidates availing of the ISC 2021 examinations. CISCE explained the current score formulation in a 12-page circular on June 20, 2021. In the circular, the CISCE stated that the data submitted by schools had been analyzed by a high-powered panel of reputable statisticians who originate from premier institutes around the country.
The CISCE has formulated the 2021 ISC evaluation criteria by analyzing the CISCE data collected from 2015 to 2020. Furthermore, the council also expressed that the formulation emphasized: "fairness to all candidates" who are part of the 2021 ISC batch. The June 2021 circular was signed by the chief executive and secretary of the CISCE board, Gerry Arathoon.
