Regular CBSE Grading System 2025 for Class 10th and 12th
The CBSE board has initiated slight variations where scores will be adjusted for students with the same marks, ensuring impartial grading. Therefore, students with the same scores will be awarded the same grades.
The board will declare the CBSE Class 12 Result and the CBSE Class 10 Result in May, 2025, tentatively. The grades in the results for both classes will follow the recent CBSE 2025 grading system guidelines.

CBSE Grading System 2025 for Arts, Health, and Physical Education
The CBSE introduced a 5-point grading scale (A to E) for class 9th and class 10th, with no specified indicators, to assess the activities related to the arts, health, and physical education. The evaluation of the students would take place in the areas of Art Education, Health, and Physical Education.
Further, in physical and health education, work experience is also taken into account. There won't be any grade scaling in these subjects.

Points to Be Noted Regarding the CBSE Grading System 2025
Below are some points that need to be kept in mind before referring to the CBSE grading system provided above:
- Minor variations in the proportion of candidates will be made to adjust ties.
- In case of a tie, all the students getting the same score will get the same grade.
- If the number of students at a score point needs to be divided into two segments, the smaller segment will go with the larger one.
- If the number of candidates who have passed exceeds 500, the board will use grading methods for the subject.
- Regarding subjects where the total number of candidates passing is less than 500, the grading would be adopted from other similar subjects.

CBSE Passing Criteria 2025
The CBSE grading system is based on a nine-point scale, from grades A1 to E2, ensuring that the raw scores are no longer shown. CBSE used the Continuous Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) for classes 9th and 10th, a ten-point assessment scale. The CBSE passing criteria is as follows:
- CBSE has dropped the "pass" and "fail" terms from the 10th and 12th mark sheets.
- In the external examinations, the grades will be determined from the scores.
- For internal assessments, the grades will be awarded by the school.
- The passing mark for each external assessment is 33%.
- To qualify for a subject requiring practical work, students must score 33 percent in theory and 33% in practical separately.
