The current IELTS test fee in India is 16,500. Registration can be done offline as well. It helps those who do not have internet access. You can also visit the nearest IDP IELTS branch or referral partner that you can find and register for the IELTS exam on the spot. Just be sure that you carry the following:

The registration fee can be paid either through a credit/debit card (Visa or Mastercard only), net banking, demand drafts, or bank deposits using a customised deposit slip through any ICICI/Allahabad Bank branch.

IELTS 2024 Cancellation and Rescheduling Fees

There are two types of policies to conform to when you’re talking about IELTS; one deals with the cancellation policy for Academic and General Training IELTS, and the other deals with the cancellation policy for UKVI/Life Skills-based IELTS. We’ll talk about the Academic and General Training IELTS cancellation policy first.

IELTS 2024 Academic and General Training Cancellation Fees

Suppose we say that you cancelled your IELTS seat around 5 weeks before your confirmed test date. Then, the IELTS cancellation fees will be 25% of the refunded amount, which is taken in the form of administration fees.

So, if you paid INR 16,500, and filed for cancellation within that particular time slot, then the IELTS test centre will refund a total amount of INR 12,375 to you whilst keeping the INR 4,125 as a cancellation fee charge. It will take 4-6 weeks for the refund process to finish.

Cancelling for medical reasons would require you to produce medical records that reflect your reasoning within five working days of the test. Depending on this, the test centre will assess your eligibility for the exam for future purposes.

IELTS 2024 UKVI and Life Skills Cancellation Fees

Now that that’s out of the way, we can now talk about the UKVI/Life Skills-based IELTS cancellation policies. Unlike its sister cancellation policy, this one is applied on a case–by–case basis. Here’s how it works:

• Cancelling more than 14 days before the test: This will refund exactly 75% of the initial fee payment you made for the exam.
• Cancelling within 14 days but more than 2 days before the test: This will process only 50% of the initial fee payment.
• Cancelling within 2 days of the test: Only 25% of the initial fee will be refunded to you.
• On the day of the test: No refunds are provided.

IELTS 2024 Cancellation Fees for Special Circumstances

Now, let’s say that you skipped the test without processing any refund. Well, you got a lot of explaining to do right there! 

But in all seriousness, this is a possible scenario. What happens in that case? Well, if such a situation occurs, then you could make a written case about your reasoning for not appearing for the test within 5 working days after the test. The test centre will take a full week (not including holidays) to respond to your case.

Once an assessment is complete, you’d receive a message from them regarding any potential refunds. There are two cases to this:

• One, if the circumstances were valid enough for you to skip out on it, then they will issue a full refund, with an administration fee deduction of 25% of the initial test fee.
• Two, if the circumstances are considered invalid, then no refund will be processed.

Your circumstances must fall into one of the following categories for it to be valid:

• A serious medical condition or situation that disabled you from participating in the test;
• Any evidence suggesting some kind of physical, mental, or psychological trauma;
• Or, you were required to serve under the military on short notice.

IELTS 2024 Rescheduling Fees

As long as you have processed a request to change the date of your test at least 5 weeks before the actual test date, then the change will be made for you without any fees applied to it. Yes, it’s free of charge!

But, there are some things to be careful about. Here are a few pointers:

• Your new date should be within three months starting from the original test date.
• If the date you prefer exceeds those months, then your rescheduling request will be treated as a cancellation request.
• Rescheduling your current test date can only be done once, and another request will be treated as a cancellation request.
• An administration fee of anywhere up to 25% of the original test fee will be charged.

IELTS 2024 Rechecking Fees

The opportunity to recheck is usually opted by the candidates who are dissatisfied with their existing scores. To opt for this facility, candidates got to pay some extra money and fill up the EOR form. 

However, candidates might choose to remark only one section of the test or all sections. Nonetheless, the IELTS fee for remarking is INR 11,625. 

Modes of Payment For IELTS Exam Fee

• Demand draft: IELTS also offer the option for candidates to use a demand draft to pay their fees. Candidates must make the demand draft payment from approved banks. However, the demand draft must be drawn in ‘IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED’ and payable in New Delhi.
