ITI offers trade courses in two different categories - engineering and non-engineering. The duration of the courses is between 6 months and 2 years, depending on the trade. The candidates must fulfil the eligibility criteria such as the deposition of examination fee and maintaining the minimum required attendance to be eligible to take the examination.

General Structure for ITI Exam Fees
There are two kinds of trainees enrolled in the ITI trades. They are engineering trade trainees and non-engineering trade trainees. The ITI exam fees charged for them are different. The processing fee also includes the admin fee and other related charges. The fees charged for both the categories have been mentioned below.
The total fee for the candidates in the engineering trades is INR 650 and for those in the non-engineering trades, the total fee is INR 600. The total exam fee includes Engineering Drawing (ED), Practical, and Computer Based Test (CBT).

ITI Supplementary Exam Fee Details
The candidates who fail in the exam, can reappear for the supplementary exam. The fee for the supplementary exam is INR 850. This fee includes the admin fee and other related charges. The supplementary exam fee is the same irrespective of the engineering and non-engineering trades.

Exam Fee Structure for the CITS Scheme
For the CITS or the Craft Instructor Training Scheme Programme, the eligibility of a candidate is determined by whether the candidate holds a Degree or Diploma or NTC or NAC. A total of 27 engineering trade courses and 9 non-engineering trade courses are offered in the CITS scheme.
The fee for the Computer Based Test is to be submitted through the mentioned payment gateway.
The following points are to be noted with respect to the ITI exam fee payment for the CITS category:
- For the theory exam, the fee is INR 193 along with other additional tax charges per paper.
- The admin and registration fees are INR 50 for each examination cycle.
- In such a case, where a trade trainee is reappearing for a supplementary exam, the full exam fee of INR 193 along with other additional tax charges per paper, has to be paid by the trainee.

ITI Exam Fee Payment Mode: Online, Offline
The mode of payment of the exam fee for the ITI trades - both engineering and non engineering - is both online and offline. For the online payment mode, the candidates must pay the ITI exam fee through the payment gateway prescribed by the DGT. The candidates can also choose to pay the ITI fee for the exam in the offline mode by submitting the fee to the respective ITIs or states, who would, in turn, make a bulk payment for the candidates in the online mode.
Satisfying the eligibility criteria ahead of the deadline to appear for the ITI exam is mandatory. In case, a candidate fails to meet the eligibility criteria, the candidate shall be barred from taking the examination.
Online ITI Exam Fee Payment Mode
The link to complete the payment process shall be made available by the DGT on the official website. The advertisement for the same shall be done in the newspapers. The payment methods that can be adopted by the candidates for the online ITI exam fee payment are:

Step by Step Procedure for Online ITI Exam Fee Payment
The following steps must be followed while making the ITI exam fee payment through the any of the above mentioned gateways:
Step 1: Visit the website nimionlineadmission.in
Step 2: Enter the roll number of the candidate.
Step 3: Enter the captcha.
Step 4: Click on ‘Verify and pay’.
Step 5: A page appears asking for personal details, many of which are auto filling fields. Fill up the page with the details asked.
Step 6: Click on the check box that states that the exam fee is non-refundable.
Step 7: Click on ‘Pay now’.
Step 8: Complete the payment procedure through the desired gateway from the options available.
Step 9: An OTP is generated on the registered mobile number or email address.
Step 10: Entering the OTP confirms the payment of the fee.
Step 11: The receipt generated is sent to the registered email address.
Offline ITI Exam Fee Payment Mode
For the offline mode of payment, the candidates must submit the ITI exam fee to the respective ITIs or states. This fee will be transferred online in bulk by the ITIs or states through the payment gateways prescribed by the DGT.
The payment can be done by the ITIs in the following methods:
- The bulk fee amount can be transferred by the ITIs to the state Directorate or the Union Territory Directorate, who will in turn make the payment to the DGT.
- The fee payment can be done through internet banking (NEFT).
- The bulk payment can be done through credit or debit cards

ITI Exam Fee Payment: Late Fee Procedure, Refund
It is imperative for the candidates to complete the ITI exam fee payment procedure within the given deadline. The deadline for paying the fee is 45 days before the schedule of examination as announced by the DGT. In case the payment of fee is not done, the candidate shall not be allowed to appear for the exam and the candidature shall be cancelled.
It must be noted in this context that the examination fee shall not be accepted if the deadline is crossed. DGT has the sole right and the authority to make alterations in the deadline of the ITI exam fee payment. It is not binding upon the DGT to inform the state or the union territories prior to the alterations in the deadline, if any.

Late Fee Payment
Firstly, late payment of fees in most cases result in the barring of the candidate from appearing in the examination. However, there is a procedure to avoid cancellation of candidature. In such cases, the candidate has to pay the late fee. The late fee shall be accepted only if the ITI or the state provides a valid justification for the late submission of exam fee on the candidate’s behalf.
DGT shall review the cause. It is upon the sole discretion of DGT to accept or decline the late fee and allow or bar the candidate from taking the examination. It must be noted here that this happens only under exceptional circumstances that convinces the DGT.

It must also be noted here that the late fee amount can be changed by the DGT at any point of time without consulting the state or the UTs and the ITIs.

Refund of ITI Exam Fee
There is no system for the refund of the exam fee that has been remitted. The ITI or the state, under special circumstances. May propose to the DGT for a refund of the exam fee that has already been submitted. Following the receipt of the proposal, the DGT will review the cause of the refund. It then falls under the sole discretion of the DGT to accept or decline the cause of the refund.
There are two circumstances that must be noted in this regard. They are:
- In case if a candidate has made the payment of the ITI exam fee twice by mistake or due to technical glitch while making the payment online, the refund can be claimed by the candidate.
Genuine and evidential documents must be produced in such cases. The DGT will then review the cause and initiate a refund of the extra amount received.
- In another circumstance, the candidate can ask for a refund of the money in case of any severe illness or contagious disease, such as COVID-19, that happens after the payment of the fee, the student can propose a refund of the money.
The DGT will review the cause and grant a refund in such cases. The student can also request the fee to be kept deposited with the DGT for later use during the supplementary exam. This shall also be accepted.

Fee for the Modification of e-Marksheet or e-Certificate
The details given on the e-marksheet is collected from the information submitted at the NCVT MIS portal during the admission of the candidate to the ITI trade. It is needless to mention that the information furnished by the candidate or the ITI must be correct.
In case there is any error in the information displayed on the e-marksheet or e-NAC or e-NTC or e-NCIC regarding the personal details of the candidate, a certain amount of payment has to be done to rectify it.

Important Instructions for ITI Exam Fee
The candidates must adhere to the below mentioned points concerning the payment of the exam fee.
- Any information related to the exam fee shall be uploaded on the NCVT MIS portal. The candidates must keep a check on the portal for any relevant update.
- Once the ITI exam fee is paid, it shall neither be adjusted with any other fees or be refunded. The refund shall only be available under the circumstances mentioned in the section above.
- If an excess amount is deducted with the exam fee, the extra amount shall get transferred to the account from which transaction was made.
- In a situation where no receipt of acknowledgement or confirmation is received by the candidate following the payment of fees, the candidate must wait for 72 hours for the payment to be reflected. If there is no confirmation after 72 hours, the candidate can make the payment again.
- The receipt for the exam fee shall be sent to the email address of the candidate. A printout of the receipt must be kept for ready reference in the future.
- It must be noted that the submission of examination fee solely doesn't guarantee a candidature in the exam. The candidate must fulfil the eligibility criteria pertaining to securing the required sessional marks and fulfilling the attendance criterion among others.
- The generation of ITI hall tickets will be done following the deadline of submission of the examination fee.
