MU Semester Exams 2022 Pattern to Remain Same as Announced Over March Circular
The MU semester exams 2022 will abide by the guidelines and pattern as announced via the March 4, 2022 circular.
The Department of Higher Education has announced that all state university exams this summer must be conducted offline. Further, the directive also mentioned gradually eliminating MCQ-type questions. Mumbai University (MU), on March 4, 2022, issued a circular informing colleges that MU Semester Exams 2022 will be held during April and May. Also, it mentioned that the exam mode would be offline, viz., paper-based test. Later, the Controller of Examinations, MU, said that all colleges would abide by the circular.
MU Semester Exams 2022: Exam Pattern
After 2 years of online exams, all state universities recommended going back to the offline mode. Here’s an overview of what reputed authorities had to say.
- Marie Fernandes, Principal, St. Andrews College, Bandra – She affirmed that the college would abide by the circular published on March 4. She stated that changing the exam pattern would unnecessarily heckle students and teachers, who have prepared accordingly. Nonetheless, she added that the exam papers were set with MCQs and Descriptive questions.
- Vinod Patil, Director of Board of Examination & Evaluation (BoEE), MU – Declared that the state Government ruled what MU had earlier recommended, i.e., the mode of examination will be offline. Furthermore, he also reiterated that the Mumbai University circular, dated March 4, stays. No further circulars will be released.
- Uday Samant, Maharashtra Higher & Technical Education Minister – He held a meeting with the Vice-Chancellors of all state universities. After the meeting, they concluded that this year’s summer university exams will be held offline.
As colleges expressed fear of change, the authorities reaffirmed that they would not introduce further changes. In February, MU announced that it would conduct some university exams online and others offline. However, they changed that through their circular in March. Moreover, the circular stated that the 6th semester exams for traditional courses would be held online. Meanwhile, the other exams for professional courses will be held offline.
