Researchers and Teachers demand funding: Almost 500 researchers, teachers of prestigious higher educational institutions marched in central Kolkata on Wednesday. They were demanding heavy funds for educational and scientific research. and formulation of policies of the center for evidence-based science. The ‘India March for Science’ was lead by the scientific community against the myth-based thinking in modern-curriculum and urged the government to formulate policies on evidence-based science only. ‘According to Asish Samanta, senior scientist and spokesperson of Breakthrough Society’.
The Marchers were from many prestigious institutes such as Jadavpur University, Presidency University, Calcutta University and many more. Researchers and Teachers demand funding and to stop spreading unscientific beliefs and inculcating a scientific temper.
