Hi I am Kritika Taneja. I want to narrate here my PGDM journey at JIMS (www.jimsindia.org) which helped me chase a dream that I initially thought was hard to accomplish. It was a daunting task, especially on the heels of the Covid pandemic when people worldwide were confined in their homes. I decided to take dig into the rabbit hole of my ambitions when millions of people were chasing their dream of joining the corporate world amidst the Covid fallout.
JIMS Rohini held my hand and gave my aspirations wings. Credit goes to the JIMS Rohini fraternity who guided me and undoubtedly the last two years shaped my personality that fits the demands of my corporate career at Gartner where I got my placement in 2023. At first, I couldn’t believe my placement but it is true. This miracle is due to the continuous trust and indefatigable efforts of the faculty, coaches, mentors, and the dedicated placement team at the institute.

When I started my PGDM journey in 2021 I did not understand the shades and hues of academic learning that were later imparted by the institute. It was a balanced mix of academics and practical exposure that helped me explore the right opportunities for learning and growth. The prime building blocks of our holistic development were the field visits to the market as they opened post-pandemic, online seminars, lectures from corporate practitioners, summer internships, and online workshops on personality development and stress management. While they helped me relax and ease my anxiety in the covid restricted environment, they also encouraged me to actively participate in the regular events organized by the institute as permitted by the Covid protocol. The case-study presentations and various club events strategically transformed my perspective on the job market and unlocked my potential.
I was actively involved in coordinating the Literary and Dramatics Society of JIMS and this helped me improve my leadership skills. After I and my team won the ‘Most Innovative’ award at the Annual Student & Convention - Prastuti 2022 - organized by DTU and JIMS, I felt like an achiever. This motivation is very special for my personal and professional growth.

I feel that the best decision in my professional pursuit was to opt for HR as my major in PGDM (https://www.jimsindia.org/pgdm.aspx )and JIMS Rohini made sure that I gain practical exposure and insights in this domain. The visit to Authbridge, Gurgaon was organized in the 4th trimester and enhanced our understanding of how companies are leveraging technology nowadays. At the conferences held at Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce and India Habitat Centre, we received interactive insights from the industry leaders and learned from their experiences. All these inexplicable experiences are valuable and worth remembering because they added practical value to the theoretical input received in the classroom or through online classes.

The last but the most important part of the journey came when we sat for the placements and I was hired as their Talent Sourcer Intern. This is the first step for career advancement at Gartner. I cannot express enough gratitude to JIMS Rohini and the faculty at the institute who have nurtured each student with 100% focus. At JIMS I did not count the days to complete my PGDM program, but I made the days count with my achievements.
