What is Online Examination?
Online examination is conducted over the internet in CBT (Computer Based Test) mode. JEE Main and JEE Advance both are held in online mode. Candidates appearing for the exam are allotted systems on which they are required to answer questions.
How is the JEE Online Examination Conducted?
Before applying for the JEE exam, candidates must know a few points. The JEE exam will be conducted in CBT (Computer Based Test). Further, to attempt the exam, candidates are allotted with systems. Through the computers, candidates can answer the questions.

Certain items are to be carried inside the examination hall. Candidates must follow the protocol mentioned above before appearing for the exam.
- Candidates are advised to fill up the admit card properly only after reading the required instructions.

There is a list of strictly prohibited items inside the JEE examination hall. The list of items are:

- Stationery such as paper, geometry boxes, pencil boxes, are strictly restricted. There is an exception for students appearing for B.Arch.
- Personal belongings like purses, handbags, earphones, microphones are not allowed inside the examination hall.
- Cameras, tape recorders, metallic items like metal bands, kara are banned inside the examination hall.
- Any snackable items like tea, coffee, chips, etc., are not allowed. There is an exception for diabetes candidates.
